Soon after the pilot phase of the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) was launched, 24 ecommerce startups began integrating with the ambitious project of the Indian government. On April 29, the platform went live in five cities: Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Shillong, and Coimbatore.
According to a report, Flipkart's logistics arm eKart Logistics, hyperlocal delivery startup Dunzo, and payment service provider PhonePe are among the startups in the process of integrating with the network. Real-time transactions in retail and food delivery have begun in some cities under ONDC, including Shillong and Delhi. According to the report, ONDC is currently focusing on retailers and restaurants. The government is attempting to strengthen processes prior to the project's official launch.
