4G internet returns to J&K after 18 months
The Jammu and Kashmir administration recently announced the decision to restore 4G mobile internet services across the Union Territory. The high-speed mobile internet was suspended since August 5, 2019, when special status of J&K was revoked and the erstwhile state was downgraded into two Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh.
“4G mobile internet services being restored in entire J&K,” Rohit Kansal, spokesman of J&K administration tweeted. On August 5, 2019, the administration shut all the communication services including fixed lines across J&K to avoid any protests regarding the passing of J&K Reorganization Bill. After two months, communication was restored in a phased manner starting with fixed lines.
