The Maharashtra government has announced the creation of an EV-focused fund to assist EV startups in scaling operations in an effort to support the Indian electric vehicle (EV) segment.
While speaking at the Alternate Fuel Conclave (AFC), Maharashtra's Aaditya Thackeray. The minister would like to see EV startups progress from regional to national players. According to Thackeray, Maharashtra accounts for 32% of four-wheeler EV sales and 17% of electric two-wheeler sales in India. The Maharashtra government also intends to have around 10% of all new vehicle registrations come from the EV segment.
