Abu Dhabi-based LuLu Group entered the North Indian market on Sunday, with the opening of the largest supermarket in Lucknow, the capital city of Uttar Pradesh (UP).
The M A Yussuf Ali-promoted Group already has a significant presence in Southern India, with sprawling malls in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Thrissur, all in the promoter's home state of Kerala, and Bangalore, Karnataka. LuLu's Lucknow mall, which houses some of India's biggest brands, both international and domestic, will open to the public on Monday. Its attractions include the massive LuLu Hypermarket and the Funtura family entertainment zone. The mall has 15 fine dining restaurants and cafes, as well as a large food court with 25 brand outlets and a capacity of seating 1600 patrons.
