Amazon & eBay ask for changes in India’s foreign trade policy

Amazon & eBay have reportedly made recommendations to the govt for policy changes in the revised Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) expected to come into effect from April 1, 2021.

According to a Business Standard report, the recommended policy changes talk about lowering the entry barrier for small businesses, which is expected to open up a market worth over $400 bn.

It talks about implementing end-to-end digitization and developing specialized logistics capabilities for exports related processes. They also talk about the need for simplifying compliances and regulatory requirements for building long-term capabilities.
