At its September hardware event, Amazon announced a new version of its Halo fitness band, which is now available for pre-order. During the pre-order period, Amazon's first wearable with a display, Halo View, is $50. Typically, it will cost $80.
The device, which will be available in December, comes with a one-year Halo membership. The plan includes workouts and nutrition advice and costs $4 per month on average. The Halo View is designed in the same way as Fitbit's Charge bands. The AMOLED colour screen displays information such as your current workouts, activity history, blood oxygen levels, and sleep scores, among other things (some of those features are exclusive to the Halo subscription). You can also view text messages.
