Amazon invests $400 million in its Indian logistics subsidiary


Amazon has increased its investment in its Indian logistics arm, Amazon Transportation Services, by INR 400 crore. The investments were made on January 6.


According to data from Tofler, Amazon's business entities in Singapore and Mauritius infused the funds. Amazon invested INR 375 crore in its Indian logistics subsidiary through its Singapore and Mauritius entities in June. The investment took place on June 16th, and a total of 37.50 lakh equity shares were issued at a price of INR 10 each. The investment comes as Amazon is reportedly preparing to enter the logistics business in India by delivering non-Amazon orders through a new vertical called Amazon Shipping.
