Antitrust Watchdog CCI orders probe against Google on INS complaints


The Competition Commission of India (CCI) compiled all of the information provided by the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) in order to launch an investigation into Google for alleged abuse of its dominant position in the online news publishing business.


According to INS, Alphabet Inc, the parent company of Google, Google LLC, Google India, Google Ireland Ltd, and Google Asia Pacific, was abusing its dominant position in the News Referral Services and Google Ad Tech Services in the Indian online news media market, which violated Section 4 of the Competition Act, 2002.
