Apple to raise starting pay for US workers

Apple Inc to raise the starting pay for its US employees, the iPhone maker announced on Wednesday, as companies face a tight labour market and a surge in unionisation efforts as inflation rises.

Apple said in a statement to Reuters that starting pay for the company's US team members will rise to $22 per hour, or higher depending on the market, a 45% increase from 2018. According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple informed some employees that their annual reviews would be advanced by three months, and the new pay would begin in early July.
