Apple will not challenge the Maryland store unionization vote

Apple Inc will not challenge the results of a unionisation vote by workers at its Towson, Maryland, store and intends to participate in the bargaining process in good faith.

Last week, nearly two-thirds of the store's employees voted to form a union, making it the first Apple store in the United States to do so.  Employees voted to become members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM). The IAM did not respond immediately to a request for comment. Apple is one of several major American corporations whose workforces have voted to unionise in recent months, with workers at some Starbucks Corp and Amazon Inc locations also voting to unionise.
