Better.com Offers a 'Voluntary Separation Agreement' to Indian Employees and Accepts 920 Resignation

Better.com, a US-based homeownership company led by founder and CEO Vishal Garg, has offered and accepted 920 resignations from its Indian employees.

The company first made headlines in December 2021, when Garg fired 900 employees during a Zoom call. Better.com followed that up with another massive layoff in India and the United States, laying off around 4,000 employees abruptly in March 2022. According to the news agency IANS, Better.com employees were given the option to leave under a "voluntary separation agreement." However, the company received resignations from more than 90% of its approximately 2,100-person workforce in India. Only about half of the resignations received by the company have been accepted.
