BNPL startup Simpl to raise $40 million in Series B led by Valar Ventures and IA Ventures

Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) startup Simpl to raise $40 million in Series B led by new investor Valar Ventures with its existing investor IA Ventures.

Simpl is a mobile-first lending platform that provides easy credit at points of sale and during e-commerce checkout. The credit taken out from Simpl is powered by an NBFC, a non-banking financial company. NBFCs are the only entities outside of banks that India's central bank, the Reserve Bank of India, has given permission to lend money.  It claims to believe in keeping ease of use at the forefront of BSNL service and provides customers with a one-click experience. With 1-tap checkout, Simpl claims to have partnered with over 5,500 merchants
