BYJU's reversed its decision to lay off 140 employees and close its Thiruvananthapuram office

BYJU's reversed its decision to lay off 140 employees and close its Thiruvananthapuram office, after meeting with Kerala Chief Minister P. Vijayan on Wednesday.

"Following a thorough discussion with the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri P. Vijayan, and Byju Raveendran, Founder of BYJU'S, we have decided to keep our TVM product development centre operational." As a result, our 140 associates will continue to work from this location," said a BYJU spokesperson. "Byju Raveendran, who is from Kerala, reiterates his commitment to the state, and the BYJU'S leadership team, under his guidance, will pursue a growth strategy in the state," they added. The news comes after media reports revealed that BYJU'S plans to close its operations in Thiruvananthapuram, laying off 140 employees as part of cost-cutting measures.
