BYJU'S is returning to its roots, so to speak, with the launch of the BYJU'S Tuition Centre (BTC), its first foray into blended or hybrid learning. BYJU's teaching hub is currently operational in 23 cities across 80 centres, with the edtech behemoth expecting it to be available in 200 cities by the end of the year. Himanshu Bajaj, who joined BYJU'S from consulting giant Kearney in December, will lead the company.
The acquisition of Aakash Educational Services by the company last year has contributed to the rapid expansion of BYJU's educational centre. It's almost full circle for BYJU'S. The edtech behemoth began as an offline student coaching centre before transitioning to online learning and becoming one of India's most valuable startups. Now, the company is returning to its roots by launching BYJU's Tuition Center (BTC), its first real foray into blended or hybrid learning.
BYJU's instructional centre, designed for students in grades 4 through 10, has been in the works for more than 18 months, according to Chief Operating Officer Mrinal Mohit. Himanshu Bajaj, who joined the company in December from consulting giant Kearney, will lead the business.
