Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel approved the Chhattisgarh EV Policy 2022

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel approved the Chhattisgarh Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy 2022, as part of a significant push across the country at both the Central and state levels to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs).

The policy, which was recently approved by the cabinet, aims to make Chhattisgarh a manufacturing hub for both EVs and their accessories, as well as to create jobs. Under the policy, the Chhattisgarh government aims to have 15% of newly registered vehicles, including both individual and commercial vehicles, be EVs within five years. The state also intends to purchase 4 lakh EVs over the next five years, until 2026-27. The government will also provide various subsidies and incentives in order to establish an overall ecosystem of EV manufacturing and adoption.
