Child Rights Panel summoned the BYJU's CEO for alleged malpractice

The National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has summoned BYJU's CEO, Byju Raveendran, for allegedly duping parents and children into purchasing the company's courses.

"The commission came across a news article in which it was stated that the sales team of BYJU's is engaging in malpractices to entice parents to purchase their courses for their children," NCPCR was quoted as saying by news portal Livemint. Raveendran has been summoned before the panel on December 23 to explain his position on the matter. The NCPCR has inquired about the number of students currently enrolled in BYJU's programme, as well as the platform's refund policy.
