Chinese firms again under government radar for collecting personal data of Indians

A large number of Indians' personal data is allegedly being collected by Chinese companies. According to reports, senior members of the Chinese Communist Party benefited from this practise (CCP).

According to ET, such reports raise additional security concerns because Chinese companies are required to share data with the government if requested. Furthermore, many of these businesses are linked to CCP members in some way. The Indian government investigated the companies under investigation for tax evasion and other financial irregularities.
