CPCB has issued instructions to ecommerce companies on how to phase out single-use plastic usage

The central pollution control board (CPCB) has issued directions to ecommerce companies in this regard as the government takes more effective measures for a single-use plastic ban by the end of June.

Single-use plastic items will be prohibited in the country beginning July 1, 2022. Earbuds with plastic sticks, wrapping or packaging films around sweet boxes, invitation cards, and cigarette packets, plastic or PVC banners less than 100 microns, and stirrers are among the plastic items that will be prohibited. CPCB is organising workshops for MSMEs to help them transition to alternatives to single-use plastic. So far, three such Workshops have been held in Ranchi, Guwahati, and Madurai.
