D2C footwear brand Plaeto raised $5 million in Series A led by Florintree Advisors

D2C footwear brand Plaeto, which makes footwear for children, raised $5 million in Series A led by Florintree Advisors where other investors also participated.

Plaeto creates and sells children's footwear. The startup employs an omnichannel strategy, selling on major ecommerce platforms in addition to its website. The incoming funds will be used by the startup to expand into new markets and add new products to its catalogue. Plaeto also has a B2B2C front through which it works with schools and educational institutes to provide uniform shoes. Plaeto's website claims that its shoes have a 50% lower environmental impact than the average athletic shoe, generating 6.5 kilos of CO2 per pair.
