Dairy alternatives startup Brown Foods raised $2.36 million as part of its seed from institutional investors such as Y Combinator, AgFunder, SRI Capital, Amino Capital, Collaborative Fund and angel investors such as Kunal Shah also participated.


Brown Foods sells animal-free milk made in labs under the 'UnReal Milk' brand, which it claims is 'exactly similar' to cow's milk. According to TechCrunch, the startup will use the funding to expand operations and accelerate product development. The startup, which has offices in the United States and India, will also invest more in the 'bioprocess' in order to launch a viable commercial product in the coming years.
