Delhi court summons Huawei India CEO Li Xiongwei

A Delhi court has summoned Huawei Telecommunications (India), its CEO Li Xiongwei and three other top company officials. In addition to Xiongwei, deputy CFO Sandeep Bhatia, tax head Amit Duggal, and transfer pricing head Long Cheng were summoned.

The court order came after the Income Tax (I-T) Department filed a complaint with the court, accusing the Chinese tech giant of failing to provide requested information. According to the department, the officials "willfully and deliberately failed to comply with relevant provisions of the Income Tax Act." The order, issued on Thursday, stated that Huawei India's noncompliance had resulted in authorities obstructing the search.
