According to a recent global survey, the emirate ranks third only to Silicon Valley and New York in terms of salaries for tech talent with at least three years of experience.
When compared to other global technology hubs such as London, Amsterdam, and Berlin, Dubai ranked higher, with software engineers earning nearly 30% more. The UAE is expected to see a large influx of Indian tech talent. The survey was conducted by consulting firm Mercer, which stated that the disparity in pay is due to high demand for software engineers, which has been boosted by government initiatives such as the National Program for Coders. Launched last year, the Program aims to attract 100,000 coders from around the globe and set up 1,000 digital companies by 2026.
