The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Manu Jain, a senior executive at Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi, as part of an investigation into the company.
According to Reuters, Jain has been summoned to appear before the agency in connection with an alleged violation of the country's foreign exchange laws. There was no immediate word on when Jain would be summoned to testify before the officials. The case is said to be about Jain's time as Xiaomi India's managing director. He is now a global vice president for Xiaomi, based in Dubai. Surprisingly, the summons arrive while Jain is currently in India.
