Edtech giant Unacademy Group laid off over 150 employees in the past couple of days. The second-largest edtech company has laid off employees primarily from its sales and operations divisions.
According to the sources, the employees affected are from Unacademy Group's core businesses, Unacademy and PrepLadder. According to reports, the startup is assisting impacted employees with outplacement. Unacademy laid off the employees due to their "poor performance," as the company tries to improve its efficiency in order to become profitable.
