EU launched antitrust probe of Google and Meta over online ads deal


The European Commission launched an antitrust investigation into a 2018 arrangement between Google and Facebook that was allegedly designed to consolidate their dominance in the internet advertising market.


The EU's executive said it was looking into the "Jedi Blue" deal to see if it was being used to "restrict and distort competition in the already crowded ad tech industry."
