EV recall may imply that wires need to be adjusted rather than a battery replacement

Electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers are not replacing batteries after more than two dozen electric two-wheelers caught fire recently, according to people in the know. Instead, they are tweaking the wiring and connectors.

Electric two-wheelers from Ola Electric, Okinawa, and Pure EV have been recalled to address battery-related issues, but because the battery is a sealed unit, it cannot be opened or tampered with. The loose connectors, wiring outside the battery, input and output to the battery, and charger setup are all being checked before the EV is returned to the customer, according to Gill.
